This letter serves as a one-time renewal of your temporary work assignment that began on (placement start date). This letter extends your current placement until (insert renewal end date). Additional communication will be given when your official end date is set.
Important Information about Transitional Work Assignments
TWAs are for a fixed period of time, up to 30 days which may be renewed up to the total allowable temporary light duty days per Amazon policy, or the duration of your temporary hiring agreement (if applicable) whichever ends sooner. TWAs are based on work availability within the work site or off-site locations and are for employee medical restrictions which are improving and progressive* towards full-duty release or maximum medical improvement.
*Over the course of time, the restrictions are lifted or removed incrementally, and the employee is making progress towards a full duty release. If an employee is not making progress or is not expected to reach full duty, the TWA assignment ends and a Long Term Accommodation (LTA) request can be evaluated.
This TWA renewal offer will begin on (Renewal start date) and will continue until additional information is provided by your physician, until you have reached a permanent and stationary or maximum medical improvement status, until you have exhausted the maximum program participation, or until you are taken off of work. At that time, we will review and re-evaluate whether there are additional options for you in conjunction with your workers' compensation adjuster.
Throughout the duration of this temporary assignment, please inform your Workers’ Compensation Manager or ACT Specialist if there are any changes to your current work limitations or need for further job modifications. Amazon may request that you submit updated medical documentation or we may reserve the right to request information from your physician directly to evaluate any changes in your status. Amazon will only assign tasks consistent with your physical abilities, knowledge, and skills, and will provide training if necessary.
Please understand that this renewal will not change any of the terms and conditions in your original Offer Letter from Amazon, including your “at-will” employment status.
